Detailed instructions including word charts, detail diagrams, and lots of photographs illustrating progress along the way

15 pages, including the cover and an extra sheet of instruction on herringbone stitch

Sized for 15/0 Miyuki round seed beads, or 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads. Other brands of seed beads may not be the same dimensions or have a different length to width ratio which may distort the pattern slightly. Cylinder beads like Delicas will not work except for the beak.

8 colors of 15/0 or 11/0 round seed beads plus 1 color of DBM and DB for the beak

Round black seed beads for the eyes: 8/0 for 15/0 or 6/0 for 11/0

Beak uses 22 gauge wire and one large bead, 12 mm hole length for 15/0 or 15 mm hole length for 11/0

Skills needed: Peyote stitch in the round, stepping up at the end of rows, plus flat peyote in even count and odd count. Flat Herringbone Stitch (extra sheet of instruction included). Ability to start peyote stitch without a starter strip. Ability to follow a detailed word chart.

NOT a beginner's pattern.

Finished size approximately 3 1/8" (80 mm) from top of head to tip of tail when made in 15/0. Made in 11/0 would be about 4 1/4" (108 mm)

The word chart is much more detailed than usual to keep the shape going perfectly.
