3-D Wren that stands on his feet
Carolina Wrens are sassy little birds that make their home in the eastern half of North America from Maine down through Mexico
Detailed instructions including word charts, diagrams, and lots of photographs illustrating progress along the way
25 pages including cover
Language: English
Sized for 15/0 Miyuki round seed beads, however, it can also be made in 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads if you prefer. Other brands of seed beads may not be the same dimensions or have a different length to width ratio which may distort the pattern.
9 colors of 15/0 plus 1 color of 11/0 for the legs (or 8/0 if you are using 11/0)
Round black opaque glass beads for the eyes: 4mm for 15/0 and 6mm for 11/0
Legs have 20 gauge wire through the beads to hold up the weight of the wren
Polystyrene balls are use internally to support the legs, plus additional stuffing material
Skills needed: Peyote stitch in the round plus flat peyote in even count and odd count. Herringbone stitch on the thighs only. Ability to start peyote stitch without a starter strip.
Finished size approximately 3.5" (97mm) from top of head to tip of extended tail when made in 15/0. Smaller than life-side. Made in 11/0 would be close to life-size.
This is a very detailed complex pattern that requires close attention to increases and decreases to maintain the shape.
The word chart is much more detailed than usual to keep the shape going perfectly.
NOT a beginner's pattern.

Dona
This is a wonderful pattern and I was able to create a little guy that looks pretty much like the pic. The pattern is well written, easy to understand and photos right where you need them. I highly recommend that you are familiar with peyote stitch, both even and odd count.
