Designed to stand on a flat surface with her short tail down behind her.

Sized for 15/0 OR 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads. Other brands of seed beads may not be the same dimensions or have a different length to width ratio which may distort the pattern slightly. Cylinder beads like Delicas will not work as well because of the curved surfaces in the bird and will distort the shape because of their squarer shape.

11 colors of 15/0 or 11/0 round seed beads, plus a few 11/0 or 8/0 for the legs and feet. Approximately 6,000 beads total.

Round black opaque glass beads for the eyes: 4 mm for 15/0, or 5 or 6 mm for 11/0

Feet/legs use wire to allow the bird to stand with some adjustment for balance. No foam ball is required, but it does need stuffing material, such as cotton balls.

Skills needed: Peyote stitch in the round, stepping up at the end of rows, plus flat peyote stitch in even count and odd count. Ability to start peyote stitch without a starter strip. Ability to follow a detailed word chart.

Finished size approximately 3.5" (9 cm) from top of head to tip of tail when made in 15/0. OR Approximately 4 5/8" (12 cm) from top of head to tip of tail when made in 11/0. A little smaller than life-size in either size bead.

This is a detailed complex pattern that requires close attention to increases and decreases to maintain the shape.

The word chart is much more detailed than usual to keep the shape going perfectly.
