Pattern for a 3-dimensional Horse

Designed to stand on a flat surface

Detailed instructions including word charts and lots of photographs illustrating progress along the way

Sized for 15/0 OR 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads. Other brands of seed beads may not be the same dimensions or have a different length to width ratio which may distort the pattern slightly. Cylinder beads like Delicas are not recommended for this design.

5 colors of 15/0 or 11/0 round seed beads. Approximately 9500 beads total.

Round black opaque glass beads for the eyes: 3 mm for 15/0, or 4 mm for 11/0

Legs use wire to allow the horse to stand with some adjustment for balance. Stuffing material, such as cotton balls, is used to keep the shape of the horse.

Skills needed: Peyote stitch in the round, stepping up at the end of rows. Ability to start peyote stitch without a starter strip. Ability to follow a detailed word chart.

Finished size approximately 3.75" (9.5 cm) tall from floor to tip of ears, and 4.75" (12 cm) long from tip of nose to back end when made in 15/0 Miyuki round seed beads. OR Approximately 5" (12.6 cm) tall from floor to tip of ears, and 6.25" (16 cm) long from tip of nose to back end when made in 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads.

This is a detailed complex pattern that requires close attention to increases and decreases to maintain the shape. Not recommended as your first attempt at one of my 3D patterns.

The word chart is much more detailed than usual to keep the shape going perfectly.
