Pattern for a 3-dimensional Lovebird.

Designed to stand on his feet.

Pattern is worked entirely in peyote stitch. Detailed instructions including word charts and photographs illustrating progress along the way. Prior experience with peyote stitch is required. Video is NOT included.

Sized for 15/0 OR 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads. Not tested for other brands of seed beads which may have a different length to width ratio which can distort the pattern. Cylinder beads like Delicas will not work because of the curved surfaces and will greatly distort the shape of the design because of their squarer shape.

Color options are included for three variations of lovebird (Fischer's, Peach Faced, and Black Masked), using 10-11 colors of 15/0 or 11/0 round seed beads, plus one color of 11/0 (if using 15/0) or 8/0 (if using 11/0) for the toes. Approximately 4,330 beads total. Diagrams showing placement of colors are included to make it easier to select your own color combination, if you prefer.

Round black opaque glass beads for the eyes: 3 mm for 15/0, or 4 mm for 11/0

There are no armatures, leg wires, or foam balls needed for this design, however it does require close attention to detail to keep the shape going perfectly.

Skills needed: Peyote stitch in the round, stepping up at the end of rows, plus flat peyote stitch in even count and odd count. Ability to start peyote stitch without a starter strip. Ability to follow a detailed word chart. NO videos are included.

Finished size approximately 3.75" (9.5 cm) from top of head to tip of tail, when made in 15/0 Miyuki round seed beads. OR Approximately 4.75" (12 cm) head to tail, when made in 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads. Life-size is about 5-7" (13-18 cm).

This is a more detailed pattern for those less experienced with my designs, however, it still requires close attention to increases and decreases to maintain the shape.

The word chart is much more detailed than usual to keep the shape going perfectly.
