Sized for 15/0 OR 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads. Not tested for other brands of seed beads which may have a different length to width ratio which can distort the pattern slightly. Cylinder beads like Delicas are not recommended because of the curved surfaces and they will greatly distort the shape of the duckling because of their squarer shape.

6 colors of 15/0 or 11/0 round seed beads, plus one color of 11/0 (if using 15/0) or 8/0 (if using 11/0) for the toes. Approximately 3190 beads total.

Round black opaque glass beads for the eyes: 3 mm for 15/0, or 4 mm for 11/0

Feet/legs use wire to allow the bird to stand with adjustment for balance. No foam ball is required.

Skills needed: Peyote stitch in the round, stepping up at the end of rows, plus flat peyote stitch in even count and odd count. Ability to start peyote stitch without a starter strip. Ability to follow a detailed word chart.

Finished size approximately 3" (7.6 cm) from tip of beak to tip of tail, and 2.25" (5.7 cm) tall when made in 15/0 Miyuki round seed beads. OR Approximately 4" (10.1 cm) beak to tail, and 3" (7.6 cm) tall when made in 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads. Life-size is much larger.

This is a detailed pattern that requires close attention to increases and decreases to maintain the shape.
