Pattern for a 3 dimensional Rooster of the Welsummer variety, a colorful breed, but could also be made in white or red variety.

Sized for 15/0 OR 11/0 Miyuki round seed beads. Other brands of seed beads may not be the same dimensions or have a different length to width ratio which may distort the pattern slightly. Cylinder beads like Delicas will not work well because of the curved surfaces.

12 colors of 15/0 or 11/0 round seed beads. Approximately 14,100 beads total. Two different colorways are offered in the pattern.

Round black opaque glass beads for the eyes: 3mm for 15/0, or 4mm for 11/0

Feet/legs use 20-gauge OR 18-gauge wire to allow the bird to stand. No foam ball is required.

Wire is also used for the tail support in either 20- or 18-gauge

Skills needed: Peyote stitch in the round, stepping up at the end of rows, plus flat peyote stitch in even count and odd count. Ability to start peyote stitch without a starter strip. Herringbone stitch with increases. Ladder stitch. Ability to follow a detailed word chart.

NOT a beginner's pattern. Advanced level. If you have not done any of my other birds, please do not choose this as your first one!

Finished size approximately 5.5" (14 cm) tall when made in 15/0. Approximately 7" (18 cm) tall when made in 11/0. Either is smaller than lifesize.

This is a very detailed complex pattern that requires close attention to increases and decreases to maintain the shape.

The word chart is much more detailed than usual to keep the shape going perfectly.
